With the huge increase in technology the demand for information is one of the main reasons digital signage is being used for advanced training sessions, these are used in factories to improve productivity throughout the work force.
Dynamic or digital signage can be used anywhere from the cafeteria, break room or common areas, as these displays can be multifunctional, from broadcasting the results of the weekend game to current news, weather updates and news information as well as being used to delivery training sessions in a convenient location.
These training sessions can delivery the “best practice” for manufacturing the factories widgets, or the company can introduce a new policy for a greener way to manufacture their products – this is then broadcast throughout the manufacturing plants globally, this type of IDL (Interactive – Digital- Learning) is becoming increasingly popular.
People have questioned in the past if training using technology will work more effectively than traditional methods, such as at training seminars, but one thing is for sure, costs involved using electronic signage to delivery the training is a for more cost effective solution.
It could extend to staff, given an extra 15 minutes per week to review their own training, they could then go to a predetermined area in a break room (when empty) and using an interactive display connected to a media player (Solid State) loaded with the Human Resources training videos call up any areas they want to review or recap on – this could be a starting point for IDL. The ability to grasping training sessions has been proven that repetition enhances the amount of information we store – so it this the start of training of the future?
